The George Darwin Lecture is given given annually by a distinguished and eloquent speaker in a field of astronomy or astrophysics The speaker may be based in the UK or overseas.

Nominations should normally be not shorter than a paragraph of ca. 120 words, and not longer than the equivalent of one A4 page.
