The 'G' Winton Capital Prize is awarded for a particularly noteworthy contribution to geophysics,solar physics, solar-terrestrial physics, or planetary sciences research by a Post Doctoral Fellow in a UK institution . At the time of nomination candidates, in normal circumstances, should have completed their PhD no more than 5 years previously.

Nominators must give sufficient information to allow nominees to be assessed (including a CV and publication list), and must arrange that at least one (preferably two) independent supporting references be submitted. (Because of the nature of the award, nominees will not, in general, be well known to the Award Committee, so it is essential that a fully self-contained case be made.)
