The Gold Medal is the RAS's highest award, for outstanding personal research or leadership in geophysics or solar-system sciences - often for a lifetime's work.
Nominations should normally be not shorter than a paragraph of ca. 120 words, and not longer than the equivalent of one A4 page.
Please use this form ONLY for nominations for the Gold Medal for achievement in geophysics, solar physics, solar-terrestrial physics, planetary sciences, and related fields.

The Awards Committees attach greater weight to more-detailed cases and factual content – for example, a full CV, a short list of key publications (preferably with bibliometric - citation - data), and (particularly) co-ordinated supporting statements from one or two colleagues, will each greatly strengthen a case.
