Educational Resources database

This searchable database is designed to help teachers, both secondary and primary, identify useful, free resources to support their teaching of astronomical and geophysical topics.

Only the highest quality resources…

All the resources listed have been carefully selected from the multitude available. They have been checked for scientific accuracy by Fellows of the Royal Astronomical Society and for effectiveness in the classroom by practising Science teachers. Only those which have proved to be both accurate and useful are included.

All UK scientific qualifications from KS3-5 supported…

The resources have been linked to the latest UK curricula and teaching specifications, covering the Key Stage 2 and 3 National Curricula for Science, GCSE Science, GCSE Astronomy, AS and A2 Physics as well as Scottish Access, Standard and Highers.

All major topics covered…

All the astronomical and geophysical topics required by the above qualifications are covered by resources in the database. These include cosmology and the Big Bang, the evolution of stars, plate tectonics, seismology and the solar system, amongst many others.
