National Astronomy Meeting 2014

NAM 2014 logoThe RAS National Astronomy Meeting 2014 (NAM 2014) was held from 23-26 June at the University of Portsmouth. NAM is one of the largest professional astronomy conferences in Europe. Over 600 astronomers and space scientists attended, as with the previous meeting.

NAM 2014 incorporated the annual UK Solar Physics (UKSP) meeting. There was also participation from members of the Magnetosphere, Ionosphere and Solar-Terrestrial physics community.

In addition to the usual scientific programme, the RAS also hosted the following events:

For full details of the conference, including the science programme, see the NAM 2014 website. Abstract submission closed on 11 April and registration to attend the conference closed on 2 June.

The conference was sponsored by the RAS, the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), the South East Physics Network (SEPnet) and Winton Capital.
