How to register to use the RAS website
There are two levels of access to the restricted sections of the RAS web site: read-only, and full access.

Read-only access is available to all Fellows by entering the general login name and password for the 'Members Area' of the web site. (Fellows who have forgotten these may contact the Membership Secretary at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .) This allows Fellows to read postings to the Forum, for example.

Full-access is needed to vote in Council elections and take part in polls. This is obtained by setting up a separate 'personal login' - to avoid abuse of the system by non-Fellows and automated systems.

HOW TO CREATE A PERSONAL LOGIN:
  • Login to the website under the general-access (read-only) account.   (If you have forgotten the general-access username/password, send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with ACCOUNT ACCESS as the subject, and your name in the body of the text.)
  • Click on Register (You MUST be already logged in using the general-acces account mentioned above) and follow the instructions to enter a username and password of your choice along with your 'membership number'  (and other optional details).   You can obtain your membership number by accessing your details from the membership list.
  • Submit button at the bottom of the screen.
Once you have submitted your registration, by return, you will be sent an e-mail to the address provided, containing a link to activate your account (instructions will be given in the e-mail).

Once you have activated your account, if you wish to vote electronically, log in and click on  'eVoting' in the left-hand side menu and follow the instructions.

Following activation of your account, you are advised always to use your personal login to access all restricted areas of the website. (Note: login details are case sensitive!)
