The level of interest in the UK-Germany National Astronomy Meeting (to be held in Manchester, March 27 - 30 2012) has been exceptionally high. Over 800 abstracts for talks and posters have been received, and the session organisers are currently finalising the science programme.

The number of delegates registering to attend led to registration being suspended after the abstract submission deadline (13 February). However, by dint of finding extra space (including hiring a marquee) some additional places have been made available.

Registration will re-open for a limited period from 10:00am (UK time) on Tuesday 28 February and continuing until all places are filled (or 12 March at the latest).

To register, go to the registration website (once registration re-opens), select the National Astronomy Meeting and then click "Book event". Create an account and log in to the payment system and then enter your details. The registration fees include discounts for students and Fellows of the RAS.

Please note:

  • Registration on the day will not be possible
  • No further abstracts, whether for talks or posters, can be accepted
  • The conference dinner and visit to Jodrell Bank are fully booked
  • The deadline to apply for a bursary has passed
  • Bona-fide journalists and members of the media may register for free, see the media announcement

For further information about registration see the the NAM website.
