The RAS to create a forum for specialist interest groups.
To promote better engagement between Council and the different sub-disciplines within the RAS, a 'Science Groups Committee' will be established  to liaise on policy issues of mutual interest and  to work together on specific issues. Groups, whether long established like the UK Solar Physics Group or   MIST, or newly emerging like the UK Astroparticle Physics Group, which obtain representation on the new committee, will be able to seek financial support from the Society for specific activities, to use the Society’s rooms for  their meetings, to submit proposals for the Society’s discussion meetings programme and to publish  meeting reports in Astronomy and Geophysics .

Groups wishing to join the Committee should contact the Executive Secretary ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. )
