RAS book series editor appointed

The RAS has appointed a commissioning editor for its new books series.  books.jpg Primarily aimed at the academic market, but including history and popular titles for scientists and amateur astronomers, the books will exploit the Society’s assets – its members, its archives, its meetings – to advance astronomy and geophysics.

The editor of 'A&G', Dr Sue Bowler, has been appointed commissioning editor for the books which will be published by Springer. 

The first two books are  in preparation and will review research into white dwarf stars and the ‘many-body problem’ – how stars, planets and galaxies interact through gravitation.

Fellows, and others, are encouraged to contact Dr Bowler with proposals for books under this new imprint. Her contact details are as follows:
