REVIEW OF UNDERGRADUATE GEOPHYSICS IN THE UK

The results of a major survey will be discussed at an Open Forum on Friday 22nd April 2005 by a panel drawn from Universities, Schools, Industry, and Government. Topics will include:

-Geophysics Education in Schools and Universities

-Skills and manpower requirements for:

-Hydrocarbon, water, and mineral exploration

-Engineering, environmental, and archaeological investigations

-Research and Education

The survey has been undertaken by the BGA ( British Geophysical Association), a joint body of the Royal Astronomical Society and the Geological Society, into the current state of geophysics education atschool and university levels.

The meeting will be held at the - Geological Society, London.
